On 29 September 2019 a strong earthquake occurred offshore Maule, Chile at a depth of 26 km. The seismic event occurred at 15:57:56 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.8.
Critical geometry already resulted in stronger seismic activity from 19 to 27 September, peaking Mw 6.5. Critical planetary and lunar geometry converged on 27 September. On 28 September the critical planetary conjunction Venus-Sun-Uranus occurred, which coincided with lunar conjunctions involving Mars and the Sun (New Moon). Two strong tremors occurred on 29 September as a result.
