On 7 March 2022 a strong earthquake occurred in the Fiji Region at a depth of 566 km. The seismic event occurred at 05:34:17 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.1.
Two days earlier a warning was issued for possible strong to major seismic activity due to a near convergence of three planetary conjunctions on 5 and 6 March. Two strong earthquakes occurred on the 6th and 7th as a result, but the tremors could potentially have been stronger. See also the Telegram post below.
